On August 17 - 25, on the Karelian Isthmus in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg and in Vyborg the XII Music and Poetry Festival "Towards Vyborg" will be held. Russian Musical Union is the partner of the Arts Forum.

“The Golden Fund of Russian Choral Music a cappella. XX – XXI centuries.” is a unique project of the Russian Musical Union (RMU) aimed at preserving and popularizing outstanding works of Russian choral music of the 20th – 21st centuries. The aim of the project is to revive the forgotten works of Russian composers of the 20th century, to get acquainted with new composers, our contemporaries, as well as with music that has not been published or performed. Among the names are: M. V. Antsev, V. A. Bulychev, A. T. Grechaninov, N. N. Dranitsyn, V. S. Kalinnikov, A. D. Kastalsky, A. V. Mikhailov, A. V. Nikolskiy, Y. S. Sakhnovsky, N. N. Sidelnikov, S. I. Taneev, Y. A. Falik, N. N. Cherepnin, P. G. Chesnokov, A. G. Schnitke, M. O. Steinberg and others.

These days in Belarus in Molodechno State Musical College after M.K. Oginsky, events of anniversary V International symphonic seminar-forum after M.K. Oginsky are underway; the seminar-forum is organized by the Guild of Young Musicians of the RMU 'InternatMolOt'. The Forum started on April 9, and will last till April 9, 2019.

In Berlin, within the framework of the program of the Days of the Spiritual Culture of Russia in Germany, the conference “Musical Heritage of Russia and Germany” was held. It was moderated by Mikhail Bryzgalov, Director of Russian National Museum of Music, Member of the Board of the Russian Musical Union.

Representatives of the Russian Musical Union took part in the V All-Russian Congress of Sound Engineers of Music Programs, where they held a presentation of the Pure Sound award.

All-Russia young composers contest, arranged to coincide with the 66-th session of international forum of broadcasting organizations 'InternationalRostrumofComposers' (IRC), was established by Russian musical union jointly with 'Orpheus' radio station and the Union of Russia's composers.

"Melodiya" record company released a vinyl record "Songs of Alexandra Pakhmutova" in honor of the 90th anniversary of the composer.

Acceptance of entries for the best audio record of the Russian academic music 'Pure Sound' has been started on the official site of the International award from December 1, 2018.

The Russian Music Union announced the establishment of the International Award for the Best Audio Recording of Russian Academic Music "Pure Sound". The press conference dedicated to this event was held on November 15, 2018 as part of IPQuorum.Culture communication platform at the VII St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum.

From October 30 to November 2, 2018, a visit of the RMU MAMKIM 'InternatMolOt' to Prague took place.

14 best representatives of the Russian State Conservatory after P.I. Tchaikovsky performed in Bolshoi hall of Moscow State Conservatory: from Astrakhan, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Saint Petersburg and Saratov. All of them are participants of a unique project named 'Alumni. The best alumni of Russia's conservatories'; the project was organized by Russian Musical Union (RMU) jointly with Moscow conservatory.

International association of young compopsers, performers and music experts 'InternatMolOt' of the Russian Musical Union has opened autumn concert season. From September 1 to September 3, the 'InternatMolOt' delegation represented its concert program at III International festival of modern classical music 'Opera Days in Narva ContempArt' in Estonia.

From July 7 to 10, 2018, the Second European Summer Creative School organized by the Russian Musical Union was held in Soria, Spain. The main goal of the project is to popularize Russian musical art and the Russian performing school abroad.

The First Russian-Czech seminar-forum of young composers and music experts organized by International association of young composers, performers and music experts of the RMU composers guild (the RMU MAMKIM 'InternatMolOt') has been held in Czechia with the assistance of West-Czech Center for contemporary music and Rossotrudnichestvo office in Czech Republic.

In Hamburg (Germany) VI International MolOt festival events will be held; the festival is organized by the International association of young composers, performers and music experts of the RMU InternatMolOt composers Guild and Youths Branch of Union of Russia's composers.

In Novosibirsk VI International MolOt festival has started, organized by the International association of young composers, performers and music experts of the RMU composers Guild and Youths Branch of Union of Russia's composers. The concert-opening was held on April 11 in Novosibirsk State philharmonic.

At the International Strategic Forum on Intellectual Property "IPQuorum 2018: Intellectual Property is the New Player of the Global Market and Digital Economy. Strategy, Trends, Industries”, an agreement was signed between the Russian Musical Union and the German Musical Council, which provides for a continuous exchange of information and regular dialogue on mutually significant musical and cultural policies issues.

Russian Musical Union (RMU) continues the “Golden Fund of Russian Symphonic Music. XX - XXI century” project, the goal of which is to create an electronic database of musical material for symphony orchestras.

On January 29, 2018, at a joint meeting of MAMKIM 'InternatMolOt' board members of PMC, the leaders of the Belarus Society of Contemporary Music (BOSM) and representatives of BelarusMolOt, it was decided to establish the Belarus-Russian Association of Contemporary Music (BRASM).
