Over 11 days, several world premieres took place in Sochi within the framework of the XIII Winter International Art Festival under the direction of the co-Chairman of the Council of Russian Musical Union Yuri Bashmet, as published on the official website of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

From January 27 to 29, 2020, Samara hosted the 7th Russian Congress of Musical Show Sound Producers, organized by Dmitry Vdovin, a sound director, with the support of Bose Professional Division and the Sound Engineering Department of the Samara State University of Culture. Russian National Museum of Music and Russian Music Publishing House announced the release of the complete collection of works by Sergei Rachmaninoff in 50 books. The project is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian composer.

On February 1, a conference of the Association of Folk and Choral Performers of Russian Musical Union was held in the Column Hall of the Nobility Assembly of Tula Town.

On December 7, 2019, the Concert Hall of Gnesins Russian Academy of Music hosted the awarding ceremony of the IX International Competition for Young Performers Gnesin Jazz 2019. Russian Musical Union was a partner of the festival.

From November 25 to December 3, 2019, the year of the 25th anniversary of Vladimir Spivakov International Charitable Fund, with the participation of UNESCO and the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY), Moscow will host the XVI International Festival "Moscow Meets Friends" - the Fund’s largest project. Russian Musical Union is a partner of the Festival.

At the end of October, Moscow hosted the first ceremony of awarding the laureates of the International Award for Best Audio Recording of Russian Academic Music entitled “Pure Sound” established by Russian Musical Union. The winners were determined in eight categories - from opera to the publication of archival audio recordings. Alexander Klevitsky, General Director of the Russian Musical Union, in an interview with "Cultural Mania", revealed interesting facts about the new award to support the national music industry.

On October 10, with the support of the Russian Musical Union, in St. Petersburg the final of the V International Music Festival “Film Song” was held. The competition was held as part of the "Aurora" Film and Television Music Festival.

On October 23 - 27, the First International Competition and Festival of Guitarists and Composers “The Time of the Guitar” was held in Moscow, organized by the Russian Musical Union in cooperation with Moscow International Association of Guitar Art (MMAGI).

The second day of the intensive program of the International Symposium “The Recording Industry in Classical Music”, which took place in Moscow on October 22-23 as part of the Pure Sound Award, began with a series of workshops and discussions. The forum has become the largest industry event dedicated to the problems of the recording industry. Russian Musical Union hosted the Symposium.

On October 23, a gala concert and the award ceremony for the laureates of the International Award for the Best Audio Recording of Russian Classical Music “Pure Sound” were held on the stage of the New Opera Theater. The award was established by the Russian Musical Union in 2018, and despite the fact that it was held for the first time, it became the largest event in the Russian recording industry.

The 1st International Symposium, "Recording Industry of Academic Music", began its work in Moscow on October 22. The event, which brought together leading experts in the field of sound recording and representatives of music industry, was held as part of the "Pure Sound" International Award.

From October 31 to November 3 on the basis of the Central Music School at Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory the III Flute Festival of Y.N. Dolzhikov, will take place dedicated to the outstanding musician, composer, professor of Moscow State Conservatory, Honored Artist of the RSFSR Yuri Nikolayevich Dolzhikov. Russian Musical Union is a partner of the event.

On December 5 - 7, 2019 in Moscow, at the Museum of S.S. Prokofiev, a three-day seminar "Journalistic Readings" for young music critics will be held. Famous journalists and critics: representatives of the print media, radio, television, will share professional skills with young authors and reveal the secrets of mastery.

On October 24 and 25, Moscow International House of Music will host “Russian Stars of World Jazz” festival, organized by Anatoly Kroll, a classic of Russian jazz, pianist, composer and band leader, Honored Artist of Russia, with the support of Russian Musical Union.

The melody for the song "My White City" appeared in 1971. Initially, it was conceived as part of the music track for the documentary film about Chisinau directed by Ion Mizha and George Vode. The composer, member of the Council of the Russian Musical Union Eugene Doga told the story of creation of the work, which later became the anthem of the city, in an exclusive interview to Sputnik radio station.

On October 22-23, 2019 in Moscow for the first time the International Symposium “Recording Industry of Academic Music” will be held. The event, hosted by Russian Musical Union, will be a part of the International Award for Best Audio Recording of Russian Academic Music “Pure Sound”. The venue of the symposium will be the Congress Center of the World Trade Center on Krasnopresnenskaya Embankment.

On August 17 - 25, on the Karelian Isthmus in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg and in Vyborg the XII Music and Poetry Festival "Towards Vyborg" was organized by the Institute of Finland in St. Petersburg with the assistance of Russian Musical Union, National Fund for Copyright Holders’ Support, and the Lifestyle Charity Foundation, Consulate General of Finland, the Governments of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
